Girls are respnsible!!

The term 'rape' is now one of the most common words in India these days found in the newspapers everyday in one page or the other. Its so often found in writing or used by us that even children of four-five years of age know the term really well, if not the meaning. But what's the reason behind the term being so popular in the country? Maybe the rapes happening almost everyday here or there is the reason. But then, why do rapes happen at all?

Numerous reasons exist varying with the viewpoints of person to person. Some say, literacy is the reason. People, being uneducated, tend to commit the crime on the spur of a moment without considering the consequences as they lack a rational mind. While some others believe it the fault with the Indians. The Indian men love to have a supremacy over the women but with the empowerment of women, the men unable to bear it, give an outlet to their anger one day, subduing her by raping her. Rapists are many times reported to enjoy the victim crying for help and pleading.

There exists numerous other theories and explanations regarding the increasing numbers of rape in India, all of which is not possible to put in here. But I will give you another really interesting viewpoint which even has got some facts, proven by science, backing it up. It says, that girls and only girls are responsible for the rapes and not the men! Surprised? To know more, buffer the video below and play it up.

One person can be the change

A school dropout guy suddenly strikes upon an idea while thinking on how to please her newly wed wife and working on that idea with full devotion not only does he please his wife but also affects the life of thousands of rural women at one go in a positive way. Seems impossible? Then read on.

Arunachalam Muruganantham is a school dropout from the southern part of India who dared to dream a change and with sheer determination also made it possible. One day while buying sanitary napkins for his wife, he realized that napkins of women costs too much, which very few can afford and are forced to use rags. So he decided to make his own simple sanitary napkins which wouldn't weigh much on the pocket but would provide the hygiene and comfort that doesn't come with the ragged clothes.

But he didn't stop here. When his product got the success and popularity with a lot of women, he was compelled to open a number of factories in order to produce more. And he just didn't let this opportunity go. He set all his factories in the undeveloped parts of India, employing all the village women, thus solving the problem of unemployment to some extent and also empowered the feminine society in the process.

Arunachalam has turned out to be a real blessing for our country. I don't know what his future plans are but I hope he launches his product in the international market, especially for the third world countries where poverty rules. His low cost napkins will surely get the success overseas as in India and at the same time will turn out to be a boon for rural women throughout the world.

is confused and dirty, her head bowed in grief.
The woman sits on the dirty floor and next to her lies a bag. In that bag
people throw money. On the hands of a woman, asleep, is a two year old baby. He's in a dirty hat
and dirty clothes.
“Madonna with baby” - numerous passers-by will donate money. The people of our kind- we always
feel sorry for less fortunate. We are ready to give unfortunate people the last shirt, the last penny out
of your pocket and never think another issue.
Helping, seems like. “Good job done”...
I walked past a beggar for a month. Did not give any money, as I knew that this is a gang operated
scam and money collected by the beggar will be given to whoever controls beggars in the area. Those
people own numerous luxury properties and cars.
Oh and beggar also gets something, of course “ A bottle of vodka in the evening and a döner kebab”.
A month later, walking past the beggars, as shock, it suddenly
hit me….
I'm staying at a busy crossing, stared at the baby, dressed as always- dirty track suit. I realized that
it
seemed "wrong", finding a child in a dirty underground station from morning to evening.

Native Language

India is a vast country and quite strange at the same time and the behaviour of its people often leaves me speechless. A few days back, I was gossiping with some people when one guy told a girl a english word which she didn't understand but also did not ask him the meaning but rathet asked me in private later. However the same guy, when he failed to understand a bengali word, did not hesitate a moment to ask its meaning.

What conveys silently through this incident is that we, Indians don't care or feel shy when we donot understand our native language but feel ashamed when we donot get to understand some foreign language as if its a must for all of us to know. This act has left me quite bewildered and I would love to change the thinking of my fellow countrymen but I seriously donot know how to achieve it?

Protest

Whenever I have opened facebook today I have seen different posts and pictures regarding the rape case of Delhi, protests in varied languages and pictures. But do these guys really believe that giving a status update or sharing a picture can bring in a change to the society and rapes cases will never appear in the newspapers again or the rate of the crime will decrease? Have changes in history ever came so easily?
I tell you after a few days they all will be back to their normal life and all these posts will rot in their timeline. If they really want to act and bring a change why not study hard and become an IPS officer or rather join the politics and try and get elected in the Lok Sabha where they can make laws according to their will and make a better India.

Donation to God

I live in Kolkata and one of the major festivals of the people living in here is the Durga Puja. Its a festival celebrated for five days and the people go for pandal hopping day and night these five days to see the various pandals and idols made on a variety of themes. And, I was no exception.

But, as I moved about along with my companions I noticed people giving money in honor of the Gods in glass boxes kept in the pandals for this purpose and a thought struck me. Are we big enough to give money to the Gods? Gods are believed to be the most powerful forces in the universe and man is just an creation of the God just like the earth and all other things, only blessed with a soul. Then how can human being which is so small in contrast to the universe have the audacity to donate money towards God?

Whenever we give money to someone, we may not tell it in words, but subconsciously it is understood that we are greater than them in terms of money, power, position or whatsoever. So do we convey that we are
greater than God when we donate money towards God?

However, by all these I don't mean to say that you should not donate money towards the trust or foundation which are organising the puja. Don't get me wrong. I am just saying that if you really want to donate some money towards the organisation it should be done at a corner and not at the centre. The donation box should be kept at a side where people would donate if they wanted to. But it is never done. The donation box is always kept at the centre in front of the Goddess and whenever you give some money over there it seems that you are giving money to the God.
